A good funnel isn’t just a landing page where people can opt in, the pros understand the psychology and layout.
The purpose is to qualify prospects, bring attention to the fact there is a pain/problem affecting them, build trust with the prospect let them know you have a solution, and get them to act.
A sales funnel is the process the prospect goes through to qualify them, and some prospects will fall out of the funnel as they go through the process leaving the best prospects.
4 stages of an effective funnel
1.Awareness Where are they in the process?
2. Interested They understand there is a solution and want to know more.
3. Desire They realize they want to get the solution
4. Action They move forward and get the solution.
The awareness stage is an important one because a prospect will be in one of the following stages.
• Know your product and brand
• Aware of the product category
• Aware of a solution, but not the specifics
• Aware there is an obstacle, but not aware of a solution
• Completely unaware there is an obstacle
Depending on where they are at in their awareness, your messaging will be completely different
It doesn't make sense to explain the solution when they don't realize they've got that obstacle.
People are more likely to be interested in your solution if they know the obstacle .
Getting the message to match their level of awareness gets the conversation off on the right path.
The purpose of marketing is to provide a solution to a problem. It’s about the prospect not your business.
Focusing on your product/service without addressing the benefit to the prospect will cause them to lose interest or possibly even frustrate them.
