Making Money Online, Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing, Guerilla Marketing Ideas
It's easy to hear how great another marketer is doing through their social media post, an interview on a podcast or many other sources.
This might discourage you if your results aren't as good and you are just getting by in your business.
But comparing yourself to them is just hurting your mental focus on your business.
Here are just a few reasons to stop:
1. They rarely ever broadcast their failures, bad days and struggles. Even the best marketers have bad days. It's not realistic to compare yourself to their highlight reel.
2. It's not fair to you to compare your beginning to their middle or end. No one ever said that running a business was easy and most businesses start slowly and can take years to really take off.
3. Most businesses start slowly and build over time. The businesses that take off quickly from the starting line are more likely to plateau and see small growth over time after their initial breakout. If you are funding your own business you are more likely to be in the slow growth category, but typically those businesses will see exponential growth over the long haul. So comparing your business to one that grew quickly through venture capital funding or another funding source is comparing apples to oranges.
Focus on the your positive accomplishments. You may not be where you want to be, but you are probably further ahead than you used to be.
If money is tight try using organic list building techniques, don't go broke running ads if they aren't paying off for you. Take a hard look at the results and do more of what is working and take note of what isn't.
Take as much of the returns as possible and reinvest in the growth of the business. Yes, there will be expenses to cover, but the growth of the business is your future.
Take it one step and one day at a time. Be positive and don't get hung up on other peoples highlight reel.
