The Most Important Emails You'll Ever Write

welcome campaign

Pop quiz! Which of these three people is likely to get you the most sales?

A. Someone who's been on your email list for a long time

B. Someone who has just signed up for your free email list

C. Someone who has just visited your website for the first time

As a rule of thumb, the answer to this question is "A"- since the person has had ample opportunity to find out what you do and become a customer over time .

But the real answer is B.

It is possible that someone who has been lurking on your email list may have already decided not to buy from you. Or else they would have done it already.

That doesn't mean you should never sell to them, or that they're not an important part of your business-but for most businesses, most new sales come from new leads.

That's what makes a welcome email series so important. It's what you use to capitalize on "sign-up momentum."

It's what you use to say hello.

It's what you use to sell.

The email with the best open rate is most often the "Welcome to my list" email.

If you think about it they are engaged because they just joined your list.

It's also just polite and the right thing to do to welcome them.

If you are just going to send them promotional emails or just notifications of your new blog post you are missing out.

Give them a reason to want to open your emails. Keep them engaged in the process.

Bring massive value to the table and make them want more.

This will make it easier to promote something after they know you better and realize what you have to offer.
